Polyurethane foam pig is made of high-quality polyester raw materials by mold foaming, product density 150KG/m³, 280KG/m³ and 300KG/m³. Other density requirements and color products are customizable. The product operates using hydraulic or air pressure and can also be mechanically dragged.
Types of Foam Pig
Polyurethane foam pig has many types like bottom-coated foam pigs (also known as naked foam balls) and full-coated foam pigs (also known as smooth foam balls).
Bottom Coating Polyurethane Foam Pigs
1. The bottom coating polyurethane foam pig has the characteristics of high tearing strength, low wear, long-running distance, and not easy to jam, the product is open foam, with an open hole rate of 80%, with a certain adsorption performance.
The ball material lacks a polyurethane wear-resistant coating at the contact point with the pipeline’s inner wall. Only the tail has a polyurethane wear-resistant sealing coating. This design allows the product to absorb moisture and clean the pipeline’s inner wall. The products are often used to test the cleanliness of the pipeline and the ability of the pig to pass the test ball, dry the pipeline, experimental ball, pipeline plugging, cleaning, and other operations.
Fully Coated Polly Pigs
2. The fully coated polyurethane foam pig is coated with a layer of polyurethane wear-resistant material on the surface of polyurethane foam products. The ball contacts with the wear-resistant material on the inner wall of the pipeline, so that the product has better wear-resistant performance and is more suitable for long-distance pipelines. Besides, it typically removes thick, hard scales and regularly clears water in long-distance pipelines. The fully coated foam pig also removes impurities, and wax in oil and gas pipelines, and assists in experimental balling for internal inspections. It is more suitable for long-distance pipe pigging and line sweeping with more elbows and a smaller bend radius.
You can equip the polyurethane foam pig with a wire brush and abrasives to enhance cleaning capacity. Besides, it can also have specially shaped coatings for dual tasks of adsorption and cleaning.

9. Finally, to enhance wear resistance, you can customize the product with a 3-6 mm surface coating thickness. For long-distance pipeline applications, you can thicken the coating as needed. |
