What is a Ring Lock Quick Opening Closure?
EMT is a Chinese manufacturer of Ring Lock Quick Opening Closures. The closures are suitable primarily for pipeline applications ranging from 2” to 48” (DN50 to DN1200) in diameter. We understand the different needs that pipeline applications require. We provide high quality products to customers from all over the world. High-quality components are placed in user-friendly locations, which makes the Ring Lock Quick Opening Closure an appealing Clamp Style Closure option. Features that prioritize safety and focus on the operator’s ease of use further enhance its appeal.
Ring Lock Quick Opening Closure is a mechanical device that can be quickly opened or closed. For use on circular ports of pressure pipes or pressure vessels. It is composed of a cylinder flange, head cover, hook ring or clamp, sealing ring, safety interlock device, opening and closing mechanism, swivel arm and sub (when needed), and other components.

Preparation Check
Check whether the inlet and outlet valves of the ball drum are fully closed to ensure that the pig launcher or receiver is gas isolated from the gas transmission line.
Check whether the pig launcher or receiver has pressure. If yes, find the reason for the pressure and empty the pig launcher or receiver.
Operate without pressure inside the pig launcher or receiver.
Operation Procedure
Open the Closure
Before opening the closure, open the vent valve to empty the pig launcher or receiver.
When the pressure of the pig launcher or receiver is 0, turn the pressure relief bolt counterclockwise with the universal handle to remove the pressure relief bolt and lock block from the closure.
Close the Closure
Insert the universal handle into the lock ring drive arm and turn the handle counterclockwise to retract the lock band into the groove. Push the universal handle and closure plate in the direction of the pig launcher and receiver, pushing the closure to the neck of the ball barrel. Turn the universal handle clockwise so that the lock band is completely stuck in the pig launcher and receiver card slot to secure the closure. Install the locking block, tighten the compression plug, and close the closure.
Precautions
During the pre-operation check, if the pig launcher or receiver remains under pressure, abort the operation. Check each valve for internal leakage and maintain the valve. Must be operated with all air sources cut off. Before operation, the pig launcher or receiver manual blowdown pipeline valve is fully open. When operating, people and objects cannot be directly in front of the closure or in the direction the closure opens.
When opening a closure, it should open smoothly, slowly, and at a constant speed. Do not apply too much force. When loosening the pressure relief bolt, note whether there is residual pressure in the pig launcher and receiver. When preparing to close the blind plate and tighten the lock belt again, pay attention to whether the lock belt moves and adjust it in time. Do not apply too much grease.
How does the Ring Lock mechanism ensure a tight seal in a Quick Opening Closure?
The large cross section O-Ring design provides a positive seal and protection from tools and debris.
Ring Lock QOC Entretien
Open the closure, remove the seal ring from the door, and check the surface of the seal ring for mechanical damage. When there is a new one, replace it. If not, wash with a clean cloth dipped in degreaser, and then dry with a clean cloth temporarily put in a clean place for safekeeping.
Check whether there is rust and dirt in the sealing groove. If there is, clean it with high-quality fine sandpaper and dry it with a clean cotton cloth.
Check the inside of the closure neck and the part of the door that is in contact with it when the door is closed, including the trough of the door. If there is dirt or rust (especially on the bottom), clean it with sandpaper and dry it with a clean cotton cloth.
After the above places are clean, apply silicone oil or other similar grease (lithium grease). The places that need to be greased include grooves (located at the lower part of the sealing ring after coating). After installing the seal, the outer side of the seal should also be greased.
